Filling our home, and creating pieces for you with farmhouse chic character and sweet imperfections.

“You can literally feel when it’s time to move into your life’s next chapter.”

Yes.

Yes, yes, yes.

I saw this quote online today, and I thought YES. Yes you sure can. It’s a powerful pull like no other… and you will certainly know when you’re in that time.

I’m in it. My next chapter that is. A new time to embrace. A new time to be grateful for. A new time to give my best to.

Something kinda like my recent time this August. A time where I just knew this antique dresser just had to be a vanity. It had to be. It was time.

My Vessel Vogue Vanity process:

  • Removed original bevel mirror ~ ever so carefully; for ease of product application
  • Removed original hardware ~ far too damaged and some handles missing, thus planned to replace
  • Heavily sanded down top ~ to completely remove original finish; in preparation for re-staining
  • Lightly sanded down remainder ~ to prepare for product adhesion
  • Thoroughly vacuumed and washed ~ certainly required before transforming preloved furniture
  • Applied 2 coats of COUNTRY CHIC PAINT in the colour ‘Rocky Mountain’ ~ the perfect, charcoal grey colour; lending itself perfectly to industrial, masculine-style decor or it can be distressed and paired with softer colours to create a cozy cottage feel
  • Sanded down for a buttery smooth and slightly distressed finish ~ for the farmhouse chic look I adore and always strive for
  • Conditioned, stained and varnished top (colour ‘Jacobean’) ~ for a two-toned transformation
  • Applied 3 coats of my go-to Varathane ‘DIAMOND WOOD FINISH‘ (water-based, satin) ~ for top-notch protection
  • Stencilled drawer-sides AND side-body-panels with Re-Design with Prima’s IMPERIAL CRACKLE decor stamp in GOLD a lovely pattern that I felt paired so nicely with this transformation
  • Purchased and installed new ‘CLASSIC SUITE HARDWARE‘ ~ personally selected from Lee Valley
  • Reinstalled original bevel mirror ~ ever so carefully
  • Purchased American Imaginations Vessel Sink from Home Depot ~ $167.00 actual cost
  • Purchased Kingston Brass Lift-and-Turn Drain from Wayfair ~ $60.96 actual cost
  • Purchased Kingston Brass Centerset Faucet from Wayfair ~ $253.99 actual cost
  • Made adjustments to top and middle drawers ~ to allow for plumbing hook-up
  • Applied 3 coats of ZINSSER B-I-N SHELLAC-BASE PRIMER to interior drawers ~ to prevent highly anticipated bleed through
  • Applied 2 coats of COUNTRY CHIC PAINT in the colour ‘Sunday Tea’ to interior drawers ~ paired nicely with ‘Rocky Mountain’
  • Applied 2 coats of my go-to Varathane ‘DIAMOND WOOD FINISH‘ (water-based, satin) to interior drawers ~ protective sealant

I could literally feel that it was time for this piece to move into its’ next chapter. An easy, yet forceful and very clear pull. A freshly turned chapter full of new beginnings, and sweetly restored memories to make. Chapter 1 was a simple, yet charming and practical chest of drawers. Chapter 2 is a vogue vanity with vessel sink for a small-spaced lavatory that’s aching for practical n’ timeless charm. My transformed offering to YOU; with OR without the vessel sink, and antique brass faucet w/ matching drain I personally selected for it. Ready for plumbing placement, and waiting for you to turn the page. Ready for its’ next chapter.

* All of my furniture pieces are preloved, with expected signs of age and use — sweet imperfections which I believe adds to their unique character and charm.
