My girl Jenn has been waiting on me for MONTHS to transform a couple bedroom dressers for her. The wait however isn’t ALL my fault. Here’s the thing β Jenn simply can’t make up her mind. π
First she wanted the colour ‘Bee’s Knees’, then ‘Cheesecake’, then ‘Vanilla Frosting’, and most recently ‘Jitterbug’. I however can’t blame her for having struggled with making up her mind β with so many charming Country Chic Paint colours to choose from, how does one decide?!
I chose the colour ‘Jitterbug’ for one of my most recent transformations, and Jenn instantly fell in <3 with it: “MUM! You have to do my dressers in Jitterbug! It’s definitely my new favourite!”
Of the 2 dressers that I’ll be transforming for her bedroom, I started with this french-style, low-boy dresser. It was handed down to Jenn years back (with mirror, and corner-piece), and ended-up in our garage a couple years ago β needless to say it was a “tad” dirty when I brought it into my loft to start working on it.
Bird poop, fly poop, cob webs and grime don’t however scare me. After a lil’ cleaning, some minor prep, and some exquisite Country Chic Paint products β this lovely low-boy is once again charming and JUST for MY girl! <3
With much enjoyment, my late-night hours over the past couple weeks went like this:
- Removed hardware
- Gave ‘her’ a darn good cleaning
- Applied 2 coats of Country Chic Paintβs βAll-In-One Decor Paintβ in the colour βJitterbugβ
- Applied 1 coat of Country Chic Paint’s ‘Tough Coat‘ ~ for some top-notch protection
- Applied 1 more coat of Country Chic Paintβs βAll-In-One Decor Paintβ in the colour βJitterbugβ
- Applied 1 coat of Country Chic Paintβs βHemp Oilβ ~ for a lovely sheen
- Installed new hardware
- Lined drawers with a charming adhesive ~ for a final sweet touch
And here it is, a dresser JUST for MY girl! Maybe not perfect to some, however sweetly imperfect to me β just like life, furniture doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful. <3
Next up for my girl from me β finish up the mirror that goes with this dresser, a tallboy dresser transformation to match, freshly painted walls and trim, a much needed new door with frame, and perhaps a few new decor items for the final fresh touch. However please be patient with me Jennβ I promise I’ll get it all done for you eventually. π xo
I hope you visit again! My #farmlifebestlife awaits more simple living, generous loving and constant learning β graced with an abundance of country chic character and sweet imperfections, both for me and for YOU! β€
Wow! You are sooooo talented! It’s beautiful!
Awe geez thank you so much Jessica! To be honest… I prefer a distressed look.. however my girl wanted a polished look for her dressers… so that is what I did. I thought I would hate it… but I’m actually rather pleased with the result… and my girl is very happy with it, and that was the goal — mission accomplished! π
Gorgeous work! Makes me want to paint everything I own!
