I’m a farmwife. It’s good. Really good in fact. I however wait a LOT — on my Farmer. I will likely take my last breath waiting on him.  He’s however very much worth the wait. <3

I have a somewhat “bigger” furniture transformation project on the go right now (that I’m super excited to share with you soon).  There’s been a couple aspects of that “bigger” project that require help from my Farmer. So I’ve been waiting. And waiting. And waiting on him.  I’m not the kind of gal that can keep still for long — no time a wastin’ — so while waiting, I picked-up this “smaller” project. “Smaller”, albeit enormously charming!

I recently transformed the most delightful bedroom set that is waiting for its’ forever home! The colour and technique that I used on that set is hands-down my FAVOURITE thus far! And I thought to myself… “Oh my… this parlour table could make a lovely addition to that set… a bedside table, a corner piece, or anything other in a master suite! I should use the same colour and technique on it!”

Don’t get me wrong. This table would be so lovely in so many spaces — in a master suite (alongside my recently refurbished regal bedroom set), a front porch, a grand foyer, a simple foyer, a sitting room, a wedding reception! You decide! <3

You decide — I do the work — work that I love! My “work” on this piece for YOU went like this:

  • Removed hardware
  • Stripped and sanded the top
  • Cleaned piece thoroughly
  • Applied 2 coats of Country Chic Paint’s ‘All-In-One Decor Paint’ in the colour ‘Jitterbug’ to the body ~ my favourite deep, muted teal
  • Lightly distressed areas of the body with sanding block ~ for a naturally aged look
  • Applied 1 coat of Country Chic Paint’s ‘Antiquing Wax’ to “bring out” the engraved areas of the body
  • Applied 1 coat of Country Chic Paint’s ‘Hemp Oil‘ to the body for a protective seal and soft shine ~ sustainably sourced from our very own Canadian Farmers! ❤
  • Stained (2 coats) and varnished (3 coats) the top with Varathane’s ‘Premium Wood Stain’ in the colour ‘Tuscan’, and ‘Fast Drying Professional Premium Clear Finish 1200 Matte Oil Based’
  • Reapplied original hardware

… all while waiting on my Farmer. 😉

Isn’t she a beauty?! I’ve debated keeping her for myself, but have reluctantly opted to sell her. If I kept all of my transformations, our house would surely look like a furniture warehouse! I’ve learned amidst my craft, that I have to have a little self-control! Not a lot… just a little! 😉

I hope you visit again! My #farmlifebestlife awaits more simple living, generous loving and constant learning — graced with an abundance of country chic character and sweet imperfections, both for me and for YOU! ❤
