🙋🏼Well I certainly do, and distressed furniture is indeed a lovely way to help achieve that! It has a vintage quality and ease about it, and fits so beautifully with homes that are comfortable rather than fussy. A wonderfully relaxed look that shouts C’mon In!

When my Mum found this pair of preloved press-back chairs at her local thrift store, she knew they had my name all over them!

Although my initial intent was to restore them for resale… once I got started, I realized how perfectly they would compliment our front door exterior space!

My transformation for ME:

• Washed and scrubbed ~ certainly necessary before painting any piece of preloved furniture
• Applied 2 coats of Country Chic Paint ‘All-In-One Decor Paint’ in the colour ‘Liquorice’ ~ quite simply the most perfect shade of black
• Sanded down for a buttery smooth and distressed finish (copiously in chosen areas where I wanted the wood to come through) ~ for the farm charm look I was after
• Sprayed on 2 coats of Varathane’s ‘Professional Clear Finish‘ ~ to achieve a highly durable finish for outdoor protection

We’re in the process of planning for a highly needed new front door, and I can hardly wait to charm it with fall decor alongside these 2 darling chairs… which will be sure to offer a warm welcome to our guests! Welcome to our no fuss home sweet home! Take a seat, slip off your shoes, and C’mon In!
