Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh I do! You could say I sound just a lil’ like Horshack when it comes to finding a dresser that will give me ALL 3 — savings, charm, and storage! 🙋🏼♀️🤣
This dresser included! Drab? YES! Potential? HUGE!
So why waste any time?! Here’s how I restored and transformed DRAB to FAB:
- Removed hardware ~ with full intentions of replacing with a far more charming set
- Removed accent from middle drawer ~ only because I didn’t like it, and who wants what they don’t like?! 😉
- Wood-filled multiple hardware holes ~ it appeared that at least 3 different sets of hardware dressed this dresser over the years
- Stripped and sanded the top and legs ~ with plans to stain n’ varnish
- Lightly sanded down drawers and body ~ to best prepare for chalk paint adhesion
- Vacuumed and cleaned ~ final prep before the real fun begins
- Applied 3 coats of Country Chic Paint ‘All-In-One Decor Paint‘ in 1 of their 20 🎉 NEW 🍾 colours — ‘String of Pearls’ to the body ~ a charming pearly white that is most def now added to my top favs
- Applied Country Chic Paint ‘Natural Wax‘ to the body ~ which I find eases the application of coloured wax
- Applied Country Chic Paint ‘Antiquing Wax‘ to the body ~ to accentuate the charm, add some aging depth, and for light protection
- Conditioned, stained and varnished top and legs with Minwax and Varathane products ~ for a charming two-toned effect and heavy protection
- Installed delightfully ornate aluminum knobs from GOHardware ~ a Canadian Etsy Shop I adore and shop with regularly
Once dreadfully drab, now a pleasingly fab dresser that will add savings, charm and storage to any desired nook in your home or cottage! Sweetly distressed, charmingly antiqued, and delightfully accentuated with ornate aluminum knobs. Transformed in a colour well-suited for many palettes, and heavily protected for years to come.
