Step tables! Who didn’t have one in their home in the 70’s / 80’s?! Well I certainly did, and I’m charmed to bring at least one back into our home! AND if you’re also feeling charmed by these winsome lil’ pieces — I’d LOVE to bring them back into your home too! <3
If I haven’t told you already, I am OVER THE MOON in love with the exquisite line of products by Country Chic Paint! Their product line includes, but is not limited to a beautiful furniture paint specifically designed for DIY’ers with a love for refinishing home furniture and home decor – YUP that’s ME!
Creating a shabby farmhouse chic look is not only something that I LOVE to do, I like to think that I’m helping out with sending less garbage to the landfills, I’m supporting a variety of local and global charitable organizations, I’ve found a way in which I can support my community and the world — all while having so much fun, AND I’ve the found the most PERFECT creative outlet from my full-time business in web design/development! What one person no longer wants is treasure in my eyes, and I’m beyond elated to bring refurbished pieces into my family’s home, and even into your home! <3
Unlike most pieces I find, this lil’ step table didn’t require any repairing. It was in PERFECT solid shape! Now how is it that someone considered it trash?! Oh well… because they did, I had opportunity to chic this one up just FOR YOU, and this is how I did it:
- Stained and varnished legs and top with Varathane’s ‘Premium Wood Stain’ in my go-to colour ‘Espresso’, and ‘Fast Drying Professional Clear Finish 1100 Satin Oil Based’
- Applied 2 coats of Country Chic Paint’s ‘All-In-One Decor Paint’ in the lovely colour ‘Bee’s Knees’ to the body
- Lightly distressed body with sanding block
- Applied 1 coat of Country Chic Paint’s ‘Natural Wax’ to the body
- Had a glass of wine while taking pics and writing this post 😉
What a lovely step up this lil’ step table would bring to your home! For whomever’s home it ends up in, I hope that it brings you back sweet and fun memories from the 70’s and 80’s… just as it did for me, while I was restoring it for YOU! <3
P.S. I found the most delightful matching pair of step tables a short while ago, that I’ll also be restoring in the near future! So if you fancy 2 over 1 (or maybe 3 with this one), watch for that posting! 😉
I hope you visit again! My #farmlifebestlife awaits more simple living, generous loving and constant learning — graced with an abundance of country chic character and sweet imperfections, both for me and for YOU! <3
That’s so pretty. I forgot about those tables.
Just finished up a pair of step tables! They are dancing once again Jessica! Stay tuned for that post! <3
Love “dancing.” Can’t wait for the post.
